NEARLY 30 people a day are being stopped and searched by police at Haymarket and Waverley train stations using anti-terrorism laws.
The special powers were introduced across the UK in the wake of the attempted terrorist attack on Glasgow Airport in June.
Figures released today reveal just under 4000 people have been stopped by British Transport Police, who patrol the stations, since then. The powers allow officers to search anyone at random and seize anything that may be used in connection with terrorism.
