Aberdeen environmentalists hold beach protest

A march in protest against Donald Trump's plans for a £1bn golf resort in Aberdeenshire has taken place. Councillors are still to decide whether the complex on the Menie estate at Balmedie should go ahead. Pressure group Sustainable Aberdeenshire organised the demonstration which was attended by about 200 people.

Flowers for Life in Iran Campaign

There is a need to approach Ahmadinejad and the judges and tell them, in a peaceful but firm way, that life is sacred in every part of the world and according to all religions - that always invite the faithful to be compassionate. Analysis: EU force may reach Chad in Jan.

Gen. Henri Bentegeat, chairman of the EU Military Committee, said Thursday the forces will be fully operational by the end of the year..."If we aren't welcome, we'll make ourselves welcome. If necessary by force," Bentegeat said, reiterating the EU forces will have a mandate allowing them to use violence if they see it fit.

The Iranian judge who annulled the death sentence defined the previous sentence “a violation of Islamic precepts and human ethics”.
