This year's Industrial Workers of the World Scottish Assembly is on Sunday, March 23rd from 1:15pm to 6:30 at the Friend’s Meeting House, Elmbank Crescent, Glasgow. The Summer Assembly is an all-scotland IWW dayschool and organising event, open to both IWW members and non-members.

Protest marks anniversary of brutal Iraq occupation

Around a thousand people attended a demonstration in Glasgow to mark the fifth anniversary of the start of the brutal occupation of Iraq; protesters called for troops to get out of Iraq, Afghanistan and for a free Palestine. One Polish anarchist was de-arrested at the demo.

Renewed protests against depleted uranium

DU testing in the south of Scotland happened again for the first time in 5 years, conducted by QinetiQ on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Renewed protests occurred from the Coalition Against DU, and Green MSP's spoke out in the Scottish Parliament. The testing occurs as the banning of the hazardous ammunition is discussed by the United Nations [1]
