The world found itself in the present mess precisely because of such blind faith in neoliberal fundamentalism.

ANTI-MILITARIST GATHERING – 29th & 30th NOVEMBER – EDINBURGH

The end of November will see anti-war, anti-militarist and peace activists from across the UK and beyond meet in Edinburgh. In these times of instability, it is vital that resistance to war and the military is as strong as possible. Edinburgh Anti-Militarists has spent over a month inviting a diverse range of groups and campaigns from across the anti-war movement past and present to come and discuss where the anti-war movement is, where it should be going, and how we’re going to get there.

Rubbish Guardian journalist gets shot

Guardian hack Rory Carroll, courageously persistent in ignoring, trivialising and smearing left social movements in South America, has been shot.

No, he didn't fall victim to a sudden decision to do some journalism in the continent. It's more nonsense: a video of him wearing a bulletproof jacket on the Guardian website. Proves that he is a person and not an alias for a US State Department press release rewriting computer program, if nothing else.

A report from the No Borders network gathering

On 9 & 10 November a gathering of No Borders activists was held in Newcastle with groups and individuals from Brighton, Bristol, South Wales, London, Oxford, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow taking part. Altogether, about 50-60 people attended.

  • claimed as "carbon capture ready", remember no such technology will exist by the time this is built
  • running mainly imported coal
