Woman arrested at nuclear sub base, talking to workers

Trident Ploughshares Press Release - 28 May, 2009

Early this morning, one woman was arrested as Trident Ploughshares activists took their legal right to protest to the north gate of Faslane nuclear submarine base in western Scotland. Their placards showed quotations from President Obama and Prime Minister Brown reacting to the recent underground nuclear weapons tests carried out by North Korea. The activists wanted the workers at Faslane to consider how their work compared to the activity in that country.

Council bosses plan £70m bail-out for gentrifiers

The City of Edinburgh Council announced this week that it plans a massive £70m bailout for struggling property developers. This news comes the same week as the Council reports a £92m black hole, and threatens to cut our front line services.

BT boss takes £2.85m for failure

The former boss of BT's epic fail division, responsible for multi-billion losses that dragged the rest of the company into the red, has walked away with £2.85m. 2 tranches of 15,000 job losses have been announced at BT in the last year, which the company claims have so far mainly been contractors and voluntary.

BNP website pwnage

Pop-eyed fascist fuckwit Nick Griffin claims that the BNP's website was brought down by a conspiracy of Marxist cyber criminals. As he often does, he's used the opportunity to beg for money from anyone in earshot, saying the '"BNP website [was] taken offline in largest cyber attack in recorded history"'
