Salmond SAYS the approach of his draft referendum bill paper supports the sovereignty of the Scottish people but the truth is the exact opposite - Salmond's paper's approach actually surrenders sovereignty to the Queen and to the "United Kingdoms" and the Union of the Crowns.

The Next discussion group will be part of the wonderful Feminist Day School being organised by the Edinburgh University Feminists on Sunday the 7th of March in Teviot Union. Our contribution will be at 17.30, we’ll be having a discussion about the future of feminism in Edinburgh and beyond. This venue is wheelchair accessible but it can be a bit hard to find so you may have to ask. Children are welcome as always, and for this month our discussion will not be women only, so anyone welcome.  If you aren’t a student then you will need photo id to get in.

Last Saturday seen the largest FIT (Forward Intelligence Team) presence on the streets of Edinburgh since the G8. Ian Skivins, Mark Scully and Paul Mathers from London, one photographer from Manchester (see pics), and loads from Edinburgh and Glasgow were all spotted.

A group of young Scottish Gypsy/Travellers are currently petitioning the Scottish Government to remove guidance that enables the authorities to move on Gypsy/Travellers from temporary sites. Your signing of this petition will demonstrate to our Government that the Gypsy/Traveller community has wide ranging support. On Saturday the 20th of February the rascist "Scottish" Defence League attempted to hold a demonstration in Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Anti-Fascist Alliance formed to confront them, and Scotland United held a rally in Princes Street Gardens.

 Yesterday the facsist SDL (alligned with casuals united, a online forum for football hooligans) propsed to meet in Edinburgh to protest agains islamic extremism and to publicise their anti islamis message of hate. After their failed march in Glasgow last year SDL always propsed to march through the streets in Edinburgh. After this announcement there was a call by certain activists to organize a counter demonstration. The Edinburgh Anti Facsist Alliance was born a group of like minded people ,from various organisations including the SSP, opposed to the SDL and facsism in any form. After discussionj it was agreed that the EAFA would confront the SDL and stop their proposed march.
