Occupy Glasgow!

Occupy Glasgow continues on George Square. Since Saturday last week activists have been on George Square, Glasgow, to make public their rejection of everything that the current "system" involves: professional politicians and their self-interested backroom deals, corporate wealth and greed, exploitation of the working class in this country and worldwide, destruction of the environment, dismantling of social achievements like free healthcare and the freedom of speech, de-humanisation of humanity through endless and needless consumerism. The list is sheer endless, if you listen to those who are on the square in the cold and the rain.

Protestor died by inhaling tear-gas in Greece

Protestor Dimitris Kotsaridis died from inhaling an excessive amount of tear-gas shot by the police.The 53-year old demonstrator was a member of the stalinist union, PAME. It is officially confirmed by the hospital's report that the 53-year old carried no head injuries as originally reported.

Aldermaston Women Invade Faslane Peace Camp

This weekend saw the delectable women from Aldermaston Women’s Peace Camp descend on Faslane.  The theme of the invasion was ‘Domestic Extremists ‘ at large and they did her Majesty’s Royal Navy a service by closing off the North Gate for a few hours on Saturday and giving the Ministry of Defence a much needed lesson in domesticity!  A few of us from Peace Camp joined our sisters and,

Occupy Glasgow! continues

As of 2pm today the Glasgow occupation is continuing with up to 15 tents on the grassy verge at the side of St Georges Square. They also have four gazeebos and bigger tents with a living space, info point and hopefully a kitchen area. Plenty of discussion and activity going on at the site with biggest threat so far coming from 4 am drunks and Scottish weather.
