Students occupying Strathclyde University plan to leave occupation after 27 hours of occupation

 

Students occupying Strathclyde University are planning to leave their occupation at 14.00 on the 30th of october following 27 hours of occupation, the time was chosen to symbolise the £27,000 fees for RUK students.

Student fees, who's worse Coalition or Labour?

Ed Milliband has promised to cut student fees from 9,000 to 6,000 pounds. Although he is trying to position himself on the side of students he has actually endorsed Coallition policy of destroying free universal education and forcing students to start a career with the prospect of debt.

Strathclyde Uni Occupied Against Introduction of £27k fees for non-Scottish students

This morning at 11 am around 40 students from across Scotland went
into occupation of the collins building at Strathclyde University in
protest of the recently announced £27,000 fees for RUK (Rest of UK,
apart from Scotland) students. Students have come from Universities
all over Scotland, including Glasgow, Strathclyde, Caledonian,

'Girl Band' Protest at Royal Bank of Scotland sponsorship of low carbon conference

A 'girl band' of environmental activists dressed as 'oily bankers' protested outside the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) sponsored Scottish Low Carbon Investment Conference in Edinburgh yesterday morning (Tuesday 27 September 2011).

Scottish Coal’s profits down 90% on last year

Scottish Coal look to be in trouble as their parent company, Scottish Resources Group, announced a 90% slump in their profits, which plunged from £28.4 million to just £2.6m in the year up until the 26th March.
