Israeli produce hidden on Co-op Shelves.  

 A management source working in one of Edinburghs Co-op stores has claimed that Israeli produce has been hidden from consumers by changing the packaging to 'Various Countries of Origin' after the self imposed ban by many shoppers to boycott Israeli goods following the ground invasions of Lebanon and attacks and continued occupation of Palestine. 

This leaves consumers with an ill informed choice of the true origin of many of the products imported from Israel which they might wish to Boycott. 

The changes were said to be made in the Co-op packaging stage of production, though it is not clear who actually ordered the change. 

This comes as a shock as many Co-op stores promote themselves as Fair trade produce buyers and promote the use of informed choice, allowing consumers to decide on what they are buying from the Co-op store chain.
