Directions to Dalkeith Park protest sites

This article is hidden with message: Other: I've included it as a link in the Dakeith feature so thought it wasn't necissary to have it in the newswire.
Here are directions to the Dalkeith Park sites. There's three occupied sites at Dalkeith, all of which are facing eviction.

Multimap

To get to the park get the 3 or 3a Lothian bus from North Bridge in Edinburgh (timetable). You have to be on the side of the road facing away from Waverly Station. As you enter Dalkeith you will see a large welcome sign so get off at the next stop. Walk up the hill towards town untill you get to High Street then go left. Keep going until the road bends right and you can see the entrance to the Park.

Keep straight on on this track. You will go past a huge play park. Resist the urge to go back to your childhood and continue on the track past some large houses, a band stand and over a bridge. After the bridge go straight on. This track goes on for quite a bit. When you get to a huge pillon you have two choices.

To go to Middle Site turn right up the path. The path goes towards the wall and then turns right. Follow it along until you see the camp. Theres a fence and locked gate for protection from Bailiffs so you will have to shout hello and someone will come and let you in.

To go to Bottom Site carry on on this track. You will cross the river on a stone bridge. Keep going until you see a muddy track going left. Take this track which will run along side loads of woods. You will eventually see the entrance to the camp. Just head down to the fire and say hello.

There is a third site that equaly needs visitors but it is easier to get to if you go to one of the other sites and ask for directions.

If at any point you are lost feel free to phone the site phone 07783904369 and ask for directions.
