I have actually read the bible and found it to be very contradictory! Book of Job was my favourite god giveth and god taketh away, basically. ~there are some good teachings on life and how one should conduct himself in life, but that's no need to start believing in fairies.

So if you remove the far-right elements, what does that leave you with? An organisation that singles out one ethnic minority as a particular threat to a supposed "English" way of life. A group calling for "no more mosques" but not "no more cathedrals". A group devoted to the royal family and the armed forces. A group that thinks things used to be better in the old days, when there was "an" English culture (as if there was ever such a thing shared by all).

Even if you were to be believed, that would still be a rotten organisation. Given that every time you meet in practice you end up with pissed-up thugs chanting racist slogans looking for a fight, you're on a hiding to nothing.

I think it's safe to say that those on the left will inevitably label us as rascists, not through ignorance, more through selective self-educating.

Our stance is clear, your race, religion and heritage are not important to us, your ideology is.

We are a single issue movement, protesting against the governments failure to address the threat of islamic extremism in this country, appeasment of those who seek to radicalise our muslim youth and the authorities neglect to recognise our right to live free from harm.

We have offered an open hand to all muslims, not the followers of the murderous wahabi cult, we offer an open hand to you just as readily. There will always be problems at our protests until the police recognise the right of the EDL to protest instead of kettling us, whilst allowing counter demos to march through cities unhindered.

I can't explain everything you'll want to know about us on here, please come along to our forums and have a look around. I posted here because people here seem to be of reasonable intelligence, we'd much rather you stood with us against the extremists than waste time arguing with those we're trying to protect.

Reg, I have been to the forum. You lot have done really well at keeping the race issue lowkey there, but it does show up from time to time. The probem is, anyone owho is noy EDL, would be mocked and banned from your lovely forum.

I do have a question though is it EDL policy to call anyone who oppose a facist? as this seems to be a re-curring theme whith you lt. Or do you just lack individual thought?

I fear that those who truly believe they are not racist in the EDl have been hoodwinked by propoganda. Look, EDL, if you are reading this, the muslims have been painted as terrorists for propoganda reasons, regardless of what type of Islam it is irrelevant. There are murderous christians, Jews, Hinuds, Seeks and athiests. If you are really worried about the state of the country turn your attention to what the state wants you to ignore. The Class War. We have more in common with the working class muslim than The Queen, The ruling Class , Political parties etc.

Your idea of England requiring defending from an "Islamic take over" is simply ludicrous, believe me, as an anarchist i would be very concerned where there to be a fundamentalist take of government by any religion. The Christian Church and Catholic church have done this time and time again.

Maybe i am young, maybe i am naieve but to think that in modern society there can be so much hatred within our own existence astounds me. Everyone is entitled to believe in what they want to believe whether it is religion or otherwise. Personal opinion is one thing you can never take away or discriminate against. If we were all the same and thought the same wouldn't life be boring? Is it not a better idea for everyone just to go about their normal business and enjoy life. We only have one shot at it so let's make the most of what we have. I am not saying that fascism is right but it's not right to ram it down people's throats. Realistically what will anyone be achieveing from a march? Nothing. Nothing is going to change so what is the point in it going ahead at all?

I am who i am and nothing will ever change.

The person who wrote the above article clearly was not present at the Glasgow demo. The SDL did march, it was a token 100 yards, but they will consider it a victory. They were met by less than 50 anti-fascists after the rest went to the green. The police did not bus them out of town, but to another part of town. Just because they aren't in the affluent areas, or city centre does not mean they were ordered away.
