Strathclyde Police Assault Teenager, Boxing Day Morning

A video has come to light of a Strathclyde police officer viciously beating a teenage boy in the early hours of Boxing Day. The police had been called to the house on Toryglen Road in Rutherglen, Glasgow, to break up a fight outside a Christmas party.

The police proceeded to arrest a number of people involved in the fight including Catherine Curran. As the police were huckling her away the woman’s son, Jamie Munro, shouted at them to leave his mother alone. At which point he was pepper sprayed and savagely beaten. Jamie managed to get away from the officer who then smashed a window trying to get at him. Jamie wasn’t arrested as he had done nothing wrong, he was beaten simply because cops think they are a law unto themselves and this one in particular is obviously a psycho.

Teen is Beaten by Officer
By GORDON TAIT

Published: 30 Dec 2009
A TEENAGE boy last night claimed the video below proves he was brutally battered by a COP.

Jamie Munro told how he was punched and kicked by the officer after being pepper-sprayed during a Boxing Day brawl.
The beating - which is now being investigated by police - was filmed by a shocked neighbour.
Last night Jamie, 18, said: "It was horrific. I thought he wasn't going to stop until I was dead."
Cops were called to Jamie's aunt's home in Rutherglen, Glasgow, after reports of people fighting in the house and out in street.
The video, which was shot in the early hours of December 26, shows cops and partygoers struggling at the house.
Outside, an officer is seen approaching Jamie after he comes out of his house next door
After punching and kicking him on the doorstep, the cop stops to check if his colleagues are watching - before using his feet and baton to batter the teenager again.
The lad isn't handcuffed, and is left by the policeman who then hurdles a fence to make his way to the door where the alleged fight is happening.
Shaken Jamie - who was left with bruising and cut legs - insisted the attack was unprovoked and he was targeted after trying to protect his mother.
He said: "I was in my own house and came to see my mum getting huckled out by cops. I said, 'Get your hands off my ma' and one of them went for me.
"He pepper sprayed me and then kicked and punched me. I thought he wasn't going to stop until I was dead.
"I managed to get inside my house and locked the door. I was screaming and managed to get up and slam the door and lock it. The cops smashed the window to try to get in."
One of Jamie's horrified relatives added: "I thought the police were going to kill him. The police just battered f*** out of him."
Last night a Strathclyde Police spokeswoman confirmed five people had been arrested and charged.
They include Jamie's mum Catherine Curran, 36, his aunt Kathleen Adamson, 29, and his 21-year-old cousin Martin Curran.
Jamie was not arrested during the incident.
The police spokeswoman added: "Around 12.55am on of 26 December, police received an anonymous call reporting around 20 people fighting in Toryglen Road, Rutherglen. Police officers attended and five people, two males aged 21 and 20 and three females aged 36, 29 and 17 were arrested.
"The arrests were in relation to a variety of offences including breach of the peace, police assault, resisting arrest, vandalism and attempted rescue of a prisoner.
"The five individuals appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
"Further inquiries are continuing in relation to this incident."
When asked about the video, the spokeswoman added: "At this time no complaint has been received.
"A thorough investigation will be conducted in relation to this matter."

Note when he says "a thorough investigation" what he actually means is "I'll have a look and then do fuck all as the oik probably deserved it." Seriously folks, make some noise about this and get that psychopath off our streets.

Who you wouldnt hesitate to call in case of an emergancy I daresay!

The only People who hate cops are the scum of society who have a reason to hate them, the cop stops them from further messing up this country, and good on them says I.

What a hard job these guys do,out every day, taking neds and their scummy familys off the street?

I for one applaude them and loudly.

And before anyone says im a Cop or married to one? Neither are true.I am simply a law abiding citizen who rolls their eyes in dispair whenever I see these zombie neds walking our streets, thinking they are tickets, when infact they are all terrified wee boys and girls who when you get them alone, cry for their mummys and the cops who they slate constantly.

So before you all slate cops, heres an idea............why not stop doing things that make you come in contact with them.......simples!!

Unfortunately, if anyone cares to look at the video on which the article in the Sun is based it shows the middle, and end of the incident; it does not however show the beginning. The picture of Mr. Munro is sufficient to at least raise suspicions he may have done more than simply say "get yer hands off my maw". Secondly, after the officer in question climbs the fence to, what looks like, assist his fellow officers in the house, Mr. Munro attacks the officer with a 4-5ft pole.

People will say that this was a natural reaction - but really, ask yourself if you'd been in that situation. Your attacker leaves, and before hand you're fearing for your life; would you not just naturally want to escape? I think seeking revenge on a public official via a pole speaks louder than any article in the Sun ever could.

Could it be that whilst shouting "get your hands off my maw", he attacked the officer? Maybe's aye, maybe's naw. But then again, if the video of the incident was complete we would know.

Having a biased attitude of the police in general should not be sufficient to leave comments on this one particular incident as the facts are inconclusive at best.

The police have a difficult job, and I've no doubt some have personality issues regarding the use/abuse of power - but this video is not proof of it in this instance, or in general.
