Four days of training and direct action: 21st–24th August

The Camp for Climate Action is a grassroots movement taking direct action against the root causes of climate change. We've already had major successes with Heathrow's third runway and E.ON's plans for a new coal fired power station at Kingsnorth.

This year we're targeting the Royal Bank of Scotland, one of the world's largest investors in oil, gas and coal.

Last year RBS were bailed out with £50 billion of public money. From tar sands extraction in Canada to coal infrastructure here in the UK, we're paying to trash our future. These projects are not just causing catastrophic climate change but destroying the lives and livelihoods of people across the globe. Meanwhile, we're told there is no money left in the public pot and we should be braced for decades of public sector cuts.

What are we doing about it? Next week, people from across the UK will be converging to take back the power and Break the Bank! Our sustainable and collectively organised base-camp will give you the chance to learn, train up and meet like minded individuals. Exciting action plans are also underway for those who want to get involved.

So come to Edinburgh this summer! We'll see you there.

It gets composted, as is pretty easy to find out. Although I think it would be legitimate to dump it on RBS, since they've left Edinburgh's economy in the shit.

Just a thought, what do you intend to do with your human waste (shit) once you leave?? Don't leave it for either RBS or Edinburgh to deal with it. Its not their fault. Be adult and take it home.

Sorry but if have many you're going to come here and protest, DO NOT leave you're mess behind. You don't live here I DO!!!   While RBS many environmentally unsound practices, that does not give you permission to walk away.   Please be environmentally aware and deal with the issue. I visited the site and spoke to a few folk. None of them were sure WHAT was happening to the waste.

The futures in your hands. Be sensible!!!

having been involved in previous climate camps, I don't think I will this time.
What would the vast majority of people do if the police just stood back and let you through. would you smash up RBS?? I think not, most would prefer to be held back and shout.

If the polis stood back then the building would be occupied and put to good use.

Coming up from the south to disrupt a scottish bank?? seems stupid!!

Like RBS is in any meaningful way "Scottish" what with owning NatWest, ABN Amro; and being invested in globally-damaging projects like the tar sands in Canada. It's no more Scotish than BP is British. But its global HQ is on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

Parochialism and wacky exclamation marks for the win!!!
