Thousands of social housing tenants are going to lose benefits if they’re deemed to have a ‘spare’ room. Parents with part custody, disabled people or teenage brothers or sisters who’ll be forced to share will be hit. Rent arrears means the threat of homelessness.
A petition calling on the Scottish Parliament to change the status of Bedroom Tax debts – meaning they would no longer lead to evictions – has already gained thousands of signatures. The day before the petition closes we’ll be demonstrating outside the Scottish Parliament. Join the protest – together we can stop this unfair attack on housing benefit.
