We want to make our voice heard, and make our opinions known, at the NATO summit they tried to keep secret! Below are Full Details of the protest at the Edinburgh NATO meeting on Afghanistan. Troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan! THE DETAILS There will be a demonstration as close to the summit as possible: it will be as visible and noisy as we make it! Lets exercise our democratic right to freedom of assembly, and make sure the warmongers visit is as uncomfortable as possible! TRAVEL the early bird catches the worm! If going from Edinburgh. Meet 7am at Rutland Square next to Caledonian Hotel and across Lothian Road from the Peace and Justice Centre. There will be a bicycle contingent but if you can bring a car and offer lifts please do so. Everyone else will take the 43 bus which leaves nearby and goes close to Craigiehall. If on the bus get off at the Riverside Road stop which is marked as Army Barracks. If travelling direct Meet up with the bus contingent at Riverside Road just off the A90 at 8am. BANNER MAKING Meet at the Peace and Justice Centre, at 6pm on Thursday evening. Some materials will be provided, but please bring as much as you can! ACCOMMODATION There are very limited spaces on peoples floors: meet at the Peace and Justice Centre for the banner making session 6pm on Thursday to meet people with crash-space. Bring a sleeping bag and roll mat! STUFF TO BRING This probably goes without saying, but its cold and might be wet on the day, so wear appropriate clothing. You might want to bring food and drink also, and of course banners, and placards! NOISE! as well as banners and placards, please bring megaphones, sound systems (there will be one, but more is better!) and horns. we hope to be within earshot of the political and military elite - lets tell them what we think! contact: protestnato@yahoo.co.uk

"Warmongers". No NATO are the ones who want peace and justice for the people of Afghanistan. The Taliban would like to continue their war on the people of Afghanistan. This is a demo against NATO politicians not NATO soldiers. There will be some supporters of NATO soldiers there and there are very few people in the peace movement who don't have respect for the ordinary squaddies and their families. I for one will try to mark the dead UK personnel appropriately and respectfully if I'm able to. 1200 more Scottish troops are heading out to Afghanistan in the new year. 86 British service personnel have died in Afghanistan so far, tens of thousands of Afghani dead remain uncounted - like ten 911's combined. Anyone who cherishes our soldiers would not send them to fight an unwinnable war. If you are scared of terrorism then bring the troops back home to patrol here. The Taleban were willing to hand Bin Laden over to legal authorities when evidence was produced. The British Army pulled out of Basra because their presence was provoking most of the violent attacks and because so few troops cannot occupy such a large resisting population. The same conditions apply throughout Afghanistan so the same retreat is necessary. Bin Laden was trained by the SAS in Dumfrieshire , according to the SAS. Tony Blair just told George Bush's other pet dogs that he was born in Edinburgh. I don't like it when Scotland is associated with genocidal traitors. I don't like their bloody plans being laid on my doorstep.

I like the pattern of thinking that lets people think the can simply call themselves weapon inspectors and expect to be treated as such. If I look at naughty pics on the internet can I claim to be a gynaecologist? The salary and pension would be quite a comfort.
