The internet-spawned campaign against the Church of Scientology organised by many Anonymouses came to Glasgow this Saturday afternoon.

By any standards, this looked like stunningly effective direct action against their chosen target. Between 6 and 10 Anonymii appeared on Buchanan Street at around 2 o'clock with a placard with pointers to more information and the web address xenu.net. The attempted suppression of this website is reportedly responsible for these widespread protests kicking off.
On reaching the Church of Scientology's regular Buchanan Street stall, where they offer a consultation / sales pitch, the Anonymii caused the Church to pack up and leave. No threats, no violence, no intimidation. And nobody indoctrinated into the cult this afternoon.
Seems that the mere hint of exposure is enough to cause this powerful and widespread cult to freak out and run for cover.Related
