Sustainable Energy - Without The Hot Air

Book coverI was recommended this book while being slaughtered in an argument about climate change and renewable energy. I was expounding the ‘green new deal’ idea, where the state could invest in wind power and other renewables while the recession is on and unemployment high. My opponent responded that wind power was not sufficient to meet our needs. Now, I’d heard it said that meeting our energy requirements with wind power would require covering most of the British Isles in wind generators, but this nay-saying had been shoved into the back of my mind. However, I had no figures to defend my position with, so the discussion moved on to other things.

High Drama On Sufferagettes March

Somebody on the Sufferagettes march today in edinburgh did a really good action. When people were marching away down some street where there was a statue they got up and dressed the statue all up right in front of the cops who couldn't do anything because of irony. Ha Ha Ha!

The cops got there own back though. Apparently there were two WPCs on horseback wearing fancy horsey gear riding right at the front of the march. Like they were leading it all. Fucks sake.

route irish.....the movie

Route Irish is a new movie from director eamon crudden. it follows the realisation and increased awarness of the U.S. governments covert operations prior and starting the war on iraq. this film is very important as it shows the truth that was there even before the rendition scandal (which incidently was set off and contributed to by irish activists). the film also documents the direct actions taken by activists (one of them a faslane peace camper at the time!! and scottish too.)as their outrage grew with knowledge.
