The Govan Community Bike Workshop was founded nine months ago as part of the UNITY in the Community asylum-seekers' charity. Its volunteers were originally working out of a tiny back room a few doors down from their current space on Shaw Road.
The Unity Centre is looking for volunteer English tutors, preferably with an ESOL/ TEFL qualification, for 2 hours a week, either Thursday morning or Saturday afternoon. We’re looking for people who can commit to teaching every week. It’s a good way to get some teaching experience in a relaxed atmosphere while supporting a great organisation!
Learning disability day service users and their carers have united with various campaign organisations and the trade unions to oppose the cuts in our city’s services.
