Come along and practise your spansh watching the movie: "Te doy mis ojos" (Take my eyes)

This is something that is said to happen quite often in Spain and the movie was shot in order to sensitize people for this issue and to bring to talk about it. It is the story of an ill jealous man, full of complex of inferiority, terrorizing his wife and son. This was as well an excellent performance of Laia Marull and Luis Tosar.(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0350193/)

Climate Cafe, Edinburgh

14/03/2010 14:00
14/03/2010 16:30

Hi folks This is an invitation to be part of the first

Climate Cafe

Sunday 14th March,

2pm-4:30pm,

@The Forest
The climate cafe will be an open and informal space where people who share concern can come together to:

  • Discuss social and environmental issues
  • Watch short political films/documentaries
  • Meet up to socialise and network with others
  • Organise and plan action

Find out about how to get involved in existing and upcoming campaigns

So if you are already active or wanting to get involved this will be a good place to plug into what's going on. If you are already part of a campaign it would be great if you could come and tell others about it. This first climate cafe will be an experiment in how an informal monthly gathering can provide the space for people to come together with others outside of the usual group meetings. If you like the idea come along and make it work. See you there.

Please forward this invitation.

Working Class Bookfair - Newcastle

06/03/2010 11:30

THE LONG MARCH BACK. 11-30am, The Bridge Hotel, Castle Garth, Newcastle.

"the Working Class bookfair is heading to Newcastle on Saturday, March 6th 2010, to the Bridge Hotel, upstairs. This traditional working class movement venue is having an important Labour movement event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the end of the Miners strike. Several NUM speakers, including President Ian Lavery, North East area NUM President and general secretary, Davy Guy and Davy Hopper, and many more. I think Matt Wrack from the FBU is speaking too.
For details and a stall call 07931301901

This event is part of efforts to build a working class movement for the 21st century in these credit crunched times. There is a tremendous need to spread good ideas and the Working Class Bookfair has spawned another event taking place in one of the historically important parts of the working class and labour movement.
