Fascist EDL confronted in Edinburgh - Cherio Cherio Cherio!

On Saturday the 20th of February the rascist "Scottish" Defence League attempted to hold a demonstration in Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Anti-Fascist Alliance formed to confront them, and Scotland United held a rally in Princes Street Gardens. After the EAFA got the location of the SDL's demo hundreds of antifascists marched down the Royal Mile to confront them, with small groups surrounding the pub they were in, and they were succesfully stopped from marching yet again.

EAFA victory in Edinburgh

 Yesterday the facsist SDL (alligned with casuals united, a online forum for football hooligans) propsed to meet in Edinburgh to protest agains islamic extremism and to publicise their anti islamis message of hate. After their failed march in Glasgow last year SDL always propsed to march through the streets in Edinburgh. After this announcement there was a call by certain activists to organize a counter demonstration. The Edinburgh Anti Facsist Alliance was born a group of like minded people ,from various organisations including the SSP, opposed to the SDL and facsism in any form. After discussionj it was agreed that the EAFA would confront the SDL and stop their proposed march.

Mass, militant action can prevent the 'Scottish Defence League' fascists from organising and assembling in Edinburgh - join us to stop them on Saturday 20 February.
ASSEMBLE: 9.30am outside Princes Mall, Princes Street (near Waverley Station).

* STAY SAFE: stick together and arrive in groups. If you're coming by yourself, make sure you know where you're going and join the demo asap.
* BE AWARE that the police will be out in force in the city centre during the day - don't carry anything illegal!

Edinburgh Anti-Fascist Alliance will have scouts around the city, and once we have discerned the location of the SDL demo, we will march there and attempt to prevent the fascists from marching and taking control of our streets.

NB. The SDL have not disclosed the location of their protest, and likely will not do so until the morning of the 20th itself.

Protest against the privatisation of Edinburgh's social care
