The Edinburgh Private Tenants Action Group has been formed by community activists and concerned Edinburgh residents to stop the growing incidence of abuses carried out by landlords and letting agents against their tenants e.g. withholding deposits, threatening behaviour, neglect and refusal to carry out repairs, etc...

EPTAG is campaigning for better enforcement of legislation already in place to protect tenants. Regular organising meetings are held and all are welcome.

Afffiliated to the Edinburgh Tenants Federation and Scottish Tenants Organisation.

Statistics on fuel poverty make for bleak reading. 28% of homes in Scotland are considered to be in fuel poverty which means they spend over 10% of their income on energy bills. Scottish Government housing condition research states that private tenants are the most likely sector of society to experience “extreme fuel poverty” (defined as spending over 20% of income on energy).
